Maypole is a family run group of businesses operating within the manufacturing and distribution of food products. The Group is seeking to recruit the services of a Cross-functional Project manager in its Business development section. 

The Cross-functional project manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of several projects undergone by Maypole Group. The Project manager will be expected to coordinate and implement the outcomes of the projects whilst also project excellent communication skills to remain in constant contact with all stakeholders involved in the project. The employee shall be reporting directly to the Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance and Standards: Establish and maintain project management framework (processes, methodologies, and standards)
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the Organisation’s project portfolio, prioritising projects, allocating resources, and ensuring projects are aligned with the strategic objectives through a prioritisation methodology to be defined.
  • Creating a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project
  • Coordinating the timely completion of tasks under the project(s) in accordance with associated contractual obligations;
  • Coordinate or participate in activities between project partners and stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are met;
  • Oversee the procurement of services and resources required for the implementation of the project(s) under the direction of the Finance department;
  • Overall project management, including monitoring the progress of the project within the available budget(s), project reporting, evaluation of results and reporting thereon.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks across projects, providing guidance and support to project managers in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet defined standards and requirements.
  • Identify and address project issues, conflicts, and changes, making necessary adjustments to keep projects on track and within scope.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, project management or a related discipline.
  • Professional project management certifications such as PRINCE2 or Scrum master
  • Basic use of Microsoft tools such as MS Project and ACAD
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
  • Proficient in the English and Maltese language both verbal and written
  • Decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience in a manufacturing and construction setup will be considered as an asset
