Maypole is currently experiencing a period of significant growth and is seeking to recruit a qualified lawyer to join our expanding team.

As an in-house lawyer, you will be expected to carry out the legal and compliance function with the Group, assisting all departments with their legal queries and requirements.  You will be working and reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors and assisting with contract management, review and drafting; providing legal insight for projects, and day to day operation of the undertaking.  

Key Responsibilities: 

- Corporate Compliance - draft and file necessary documents with the MBR

- Legal support - drafting, and reviewing contracts (including lease, employment and commercial contracts)

- Advise on applicable regulations (including food, GDPR, MTLTF, Property)

- Protect Intellectual Property

-  Identify Legal Risks and advise accordingly.

- Manage litigation

- Provide assistance to all departments when required. 

- Manage the Group’s due diligence and KYC (internally and externally)

- Promote good governance.

 Qualifications: 

- Hold a Bachelor of Laws and specialization (ideally in business or commercial law)

- Hold a valid warrant to practice law in Malta. 

- Have a strong understanding of the Maltese and European Legal Framework

- Ability to manage multiple projects.

- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English and Maltese.

 Experience 

-  4-6 years (PQE) of which at least 2 within a multi-disciplinary role.
