Purpose of the Role
The Food & Beverage Server is responsible for providing professional and high-quality service to restaurant guests by assisting with order service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment.
The role supports the restaurant service team by ensuring that food and beverages are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, quality, and food safety. The F&B Server is also responsible for ensuring personal wellbeing and contributing to a safe working environment for themselves, colleagues, and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner and escort them to their tables when required.
• Provide attentive service to ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience.
• Respond to customer requests and communicate effectively with the service team.
• Verify the legal drinking age of customers prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
Food and Beverage Service
• Prepare and serve hot, cold, and mixed beverages for customers.
• Serve chilled bottles of wine and other beverages according to service standards.
• Assist in delivering food and drinks to customers as part of the service team.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items to support customer inquiries when required.
Service Support
• Act as a runner according to the directions of Senior F&B Servers, Restaurant Supervisor, or Duty Manager.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
• Assist in coordinating service during busy periods.
Cleaning and Hygiene
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
• Clean and polish service equipment, glassware, and utensils.
• Ensure equipment is stored in the designated areas after use.
• Check, clean, and replenish restroom supplies regularly during shifts.
Requirements
• Food Handling Certification (Level A or B).
• Fluency in English.
