Job Description

Overview

The Freezer Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing frozen goods, ensuring proper handling of items and accurate record-keeping. The Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining inventory levels and contributing to the overall smooth operation of the facility. 

Responsibility:

  • Receives incoming frozen goods and verifies their contents against transfer orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness; 
  • Verifies batch number as registered on transfer order with actual product delivered; 
  • Verifies the goods transferred from manufacturing area against a signature which document is to be stored by store manager.
  • Inspects goods for quality, freshness, damage, defects, or discrepancies and checks that delivered goods have a reasonable shelf life (Use By/ BB Date); All goods must have a stated production date/Use by/BB date on appropriate intact packaging, transported in clean containers and in appropriately temperature-controlled vehicles where applicable; 
  • Checks temperature of perishable goods using suitable verified thermometers on receipt as guided by the Quality and food safety team; 
  • Reports any issues or discrepancies with delivered goods to superiors; 

Requirements

  • Experience as a storekeeper in a manufacturing industry would be considered an asset;
  • Food handling certification (B);
  • Forklifter licence would be considered an asset 
  • Fluent in English.
