Job Purpose:
The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing goods, ensuring proper handling of items and accurate record-keeping.
Main Duties:
- Receives incoming shipments and verifies their contents against purchase orders or delivery notes;
- Verifies batch number as registered on supplier’s invoice with actual product delivered;
- Inspects goods for quality, freshness, damage, defects, or discrepancies and checks that delivered goods have a reasonable shelf life (Use By/ BB Date); Goods must have a stated production date/Use by/BB date on appropriate intact packaging, transported in clean containers and in appropriately temperature-controlled vehicles where applicable;
- Checks temperature of perishable goods using suitable verified thermometers on receipt as guided by the Quality and food safety team. Delivery of all chilled goods bought in potentially hazardous food (PHF) must be of a temperature of +5 oC or below, with a maximum critical limit of +8 oC. Fresh fruit and vegetables must be delivered at a temperature less than +10 oC.;
- Reports any issues or discrepancies with delivered goods to superiors;
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a storekeeper in a manufacturing industry would be considered an asset;
- Food handling certification (B);
- Fork lifter license;
- Fluent in English.
