To support the Head of Maintenance and Building Services and lead the factory maintenance team in ensuring the efficient operation of the factory by coordinating the maintenance of production equipment, utilities and factory infrastructure, minimising downtime and ensuring compliance with health, safety and food manufacturing standards.
• Support the Head of Maintenance and Building Services in the day-to-day management of factory maintenance operations.
• Lead and manage mechanics, technicians, and other personnel whilst fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, train, and develop maintenance staff to perform their duties effectively.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programmes for production machinery, utilities and factory infrastructure to maximise equipment reliability and minimise production downtime.
• Establish and communicate clear expectations, goals and performance standards for the maintenance team.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs and equipment upgrades, to minimise disruptions to factory operations.
• Prioritise maintenance tasks based on urgency, equipment criticality, and available resources.
• Carry out any other duties related to the role as assigned by the Head of Maintenance and Building Services.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of factory equipment and other assets to ensure they operate safely and reliably.
• Collaborate with the Maypole engineers to identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, modifications or replacements to improve performance and efficiency.
• Maintain facilities, including building structures and utilities to meet sanitation, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OHSA standards, and company policies related to equipment operation, maintenance practices, and workplace safety.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits, identifying and addressing potential hazards and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Be computer literate and proficient especially in MS Office applications.
Be proactive, flexible and with a positive mind-set.
Be attentive to detail and ensure efficiencies.
Have a minimum of three years’ work experience within a maintenance role.
Have at least two years of experience in a managerial position.
Previous experience in the manufacturing sector as a plus.
